Become a Grey Warden is F$#%^$ scary man! You have to drink Darkspawn blood! 0_0 Disgusting, but badass at the same time! The city of Ostegar is attacked by the darkspawn army and you get your asses handed to you. The Blight has returned once again and Duncan recruits you to become a Grey Warden. My backstory was I grew up in “The Circle of Mages.” I really don’t want to spoil a lot but you eventually meet Duncan, a soldier of the Grey Wardens. I have a human mage character… There was no Blue hair option 😡 In Skyrim, your character’s backstory is always the same, but in DAO, the type of character you pick determines your backstory. The biggest reason I’d say is because I’ve grown to really like the characters. I’ll be honest, I love Dragon Age’s story quite a lot more than Skyrim. Skyrim never really grabbed me as much as DA did. These games seem like they have a lot in common right? Well they don’t. the rebel alliance lead by Luke Skywalker, I mean Ulfric Stormcloak. In DA, the darkspawn threaten the land and everyone is fighting everyone else. In Skyrim, the land of Skyrim is caught in a civil war with the Imperial army lead by Darth Vader, I mean General Tullius vs.
In DA, you are a “Grey Warden” a group of soldiers who are the most badass soldiers in the land and are fighting off the darkspawn attack. You’re character in Skyrim is the “Dragonborn” and you are the only one who can kill a dragon. And they are controlled by the “Archdemon” who is a dragon… as well… huh. In DAO, you face the threat of the “Darkspawn” There’re very dark you see. He and his dragon buddies have returned to take over the world again I think. Then when your about to get the 12th century equivalent of a haircut, you get saved by the evil dragon Alduin. Skyrim starts off with you in a prison for an unknown crime. Let’s talk about what I feel is the most important thing in any RPG, the story. So shine your swords and get ready to crack some skulls, cause we’re going to RPG land once again. Is DAO better than Skyrim? This is the question I want to answer in this review. The only one I played extensively is Skyrim.
I don’t have a ton of experience with RPG’s. Do I like it? There’s a lot to like about it, but I’m not sure if it’s my kind of game. I’ve only very recently started playing this game, and I must say this game is… interesting.
